Robinho: There is only one Alex de Souza

Brazilian star Robinho spoke of his interest in the Turkish Super Lig and former Fenerbahce player Alex de Souza during an interview with beIN Sports.

Sivasspor’s new star Robinho sat down for an exclusive interview with beIN Sports and discussed a variety of subjects including former Fenerbahce player Alex de Souza and current Fenerbahce player Giuliano.

The 34-year-old forward stated that he followed the Turkish Super Lig prior to signing for Sivasspor and spoke highly of the league as well as Fenerbahce legend Alex de Souza.

“Before coming to Sivas, I knew a lot about Fenerbahce, Besiktas and Galatasaray. You won’t believe it but I also knew about Sivas and followed them. I was interested in them because of Roberto Carlos and Cicinho; Roberto managed Sivasspor while Cicinho played for them.”

“Giuliano is really an impressive player, he’s capable of doing impressive things. To get to the World Cup, a lot of things have to happen but if he keeps going like this, he can make it, I think. But, he is definitely no Alex de Souza. There is only one Alex in this world and there won’t be another one after.”

Robinho signed for Sivasspor this past January transfer window and has settled in quickly at his new club. So far, he has scored 3 goals in 5 appearances and is already a crowd favourite.
