Denizlispor’s debt is 19 million TL

Spor Toto 1.Lig side Denizlispor announced their total debt yesterday.

Denizlispor, currently battling to avoid relegation from the 1.Lig, have a total debt of 19 million Turkish Lira (approximately €3.8 million), the club’s vice-president Taner Atilla said in a statement yesterday at the club’s facilities, Haluk Ulusoy Facilities.

The vice-president also spoke about the team’s upcoming games and the predicament they find themselves in;

“We find ourselves in the most critical stages of the league and we are unfortunate to have made the mistakes that got us here. We have asked for more fair and experienced referees to be appointed in the upcoming matches and we don’t want to lose a match again in such a way.”, said Atilla, referring to the team’s loss in the 5th minute of added-time in their match against Altinordu.

The team’s manager, former Turkish international Fatih Tekke, warned his players about their upcoming clash with Ankaragucu, one of the league’s best teams this season;

“Ankaragucu are very dangerous from set-pieces with their tall players. We must play enthusiastically. We are a good team. We shouldn’t concede easy goals and we should convert the chances we get. We need to play well and pick up points.”
