Fenerbahce hire new sporting director

The Yellow Canaries have reached an agreement with their new man, Damien Comolli and made the announcement via Twitter.

Ali Koc has shown today he means business by appointing former Liverpool and Arsenal scout Damien Comolli as the club’s sporting director.

The 46-year-old signed a three-year contract, until 2021, with the Turkish club today. He had been linked with the job for several days.

Fenerbahce released a statement regarding the signing;

“Our club has reached a three-year agreement with Damien Comolli who has worked with clubs such as St Etienne, Monaco AS, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool. As our sporting director, for the next three years, he will be in charge of all football operations. This means he will be responsible for matters such as player monitoring, recruitment, infrastructure development as well as advise our management board.”

Comolli has stated he is very happy to part of a club with such history and traditions and that he is looking forward to his time with the club.

The official signing ceremony will take place on June 12th at 2:00PM at the club’s stadium facilities.
