Freiburg defender Soyuncu: “I hope I go to Arsenal”

In-demand Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu has expressed his wishes to move to the Premier League club this summer.

Turkish wonderkid Caglar Soyuncu has confirmed the claims about Arsenal’s interest in him. The young talent has been on the English club’s radar for several months.

The 22-year-old, currently in Turkey for the summer holidays with another promising Turkish player Cengiz Under, spoke candidly about his wishes.

“There was an offer from Arsenal, that’s true. I hope I go to Arsenal. I want to play there but it depends on the team because I still have a three-year deal,” he said.

Caglar was also subject to a bid fom Turkey, which the player also confirmed.

“Yes, I had offers from a few Turkish teams. I can’t say the names but I can say I rejected them. At the moment, I’m not interested in playing in Turkey. I want to continue my career in Europe. But we can’t predict future. One day, I will definitely play in Turkey, but not now. My current goal is to achieve greater achievements in a bigger team.”

The Turkish defender is widely expected to sign for the North London team but nothing has been made official as of yet.
