Cenk Tosun: I want to repay Everton fans’ support

The Turkish striker is eager to show Everton fans his appreciation by delivering on the pitch next season.

The English club forked over £27m on the Besiktas forward six months ago, and the Turkish international impressed as he bagged five goals before the end of the season. The German-born Turk wants to repay the fans support next season with even more goals.

“The fans have been great with me from the first day I joined,” Tosun told the club’s website. “I have been very lucky as a player so far in my career to play in front of great supporters.”

The Besiktas fans are very loyal to me and it has been the same at Everton. They are so keen for you to do well and that inspires you. Obviously, I want to do well whenever I step on to a football pitch but their backing gives you that extra motivation.”

“Since joining the club, they have given me so much support, whether it’s on social media or in the street. I hear the songs they sing and the atmosphere they can create.”

“It’s great to have felt that warmth so soon after joining and I hope to give them plenty to cheer about in the future.”
