Riza Calimbay: No problems with Eto’o

Konyaspor boss Riza Calimbay cleared rumors of issues with Samuel Eto’o.

Konyaspor have started carrying out their preparations for the summer with the first training session yesterday evening. The club’s manager Riza Calimbay spoke to reporters after the training session to answer rumors regarding conflict with players and possible transfers.

“There is no problem with Eto’o. Unfortunately, such rumors are spread. I have worked with Samuel and he is one of the best professional football players I’ve had the pleasure to work with. When I left Antalyaspor, they had two points and were in last place. With him as captain, a lot of good things were achieved. Anyway, he wanted permission to come back on July 4th and after discussing it with our club’s management we granted him permission.”

He also addressed speculation surrounding Fenerbahce’s Aatif Chahechouhee possibly signing for the Anatolian Eagle.

“Aatif is one of my previous players. God willing, it will happen. Our club is working on it. At the moment, there is nothing confirmed.”
