Greedy Negredo refuses to leave Besiktas

The Spaniard is not willing to move despite several clubs interested in the striker.

Alvaro Negredo’s role at the club continues to be uncertain even though Senol Gunes has told the player he is not in his tactical plans next season. The Besiktas boss has not even invited the player to the team’s pre-season training camp in Slovakia.

The former Valencia and Man City striker is currently earning a hefty €4,350,000 per year.

Negredo was quoted as saying he has no intention taking a pay cut to leave;

“I have a contract with Besiktas. I hold my self responsible for missing out on the league title last season. I’m not going anywhere. Those who want to sell me must pay what is in my contract. I will stay with Besiktas and get my last penny,” the striker explained.

The 32-year-old was the subject of transfer offers from MLS club Sporting Kansas City, Saudi Arabian side Al Ittihad and La Liga newcomers Rayo Vallecano. All there were unable to agree terms with the player. mainly due to his wages.

The Spanish forward has been a disappointment, to say the least, since his arrival from Valencia last summer.
