Iranian defender Majid Hosseini set to join Trabzonspor

The Black Sea Storm are close to adding the young defender to their squad.

Trabzonspor continue their search for two center-backs after parting ways with defenders Ugur Demirok, Jan Durica and Tomas Hubocan. Iranian international Majid Hosseini is close to signing for the Super Lig club, according to the club’s general coordinator Ozkan Sumer.

Sumer spoke to members of the press today regarding the transfer and said he was hopeful of a positive outcome;

“There is a high probability this transfer will materialize. We are in the final stages. We expect him to be in Trabzon on Thursday as long as there are no setbacks,” he was quoted as saying.

The 22-year-old currently plays for Iranian giants Esteghlal. He made impressive appearances for the Iran national team in the World Cup in Russia just weeks ago.

The transfer fee involving the player is reported to be between €100,000-€300,000, which the Super Lig club would be willing to pay.
