Turkish Super Cup to utilize VAR

The TFF has decided the Super Cup final will use the latest refereeing system.

The Turkish Super Cup clash between last season’s league champions Galatasaray and Turkish Cup winners Akhisarspor will be the first game of the new season to utilize the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system.

The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced the decision earlier this week.

Istanbul heavyweight Galatasaray will line-up against minnows Akhisarspor who famously defeated Fenerbahce 3-2 to lift the Turkish Cup last season.

The clear favorites are The Lions, however, Akhisarspor fans will be hoping their team will be able to pull of another upset.

The final will be played on August 5th at 8:45PM local time at Konya Buyuksehir Belediye Stadium, the home ground of Konyaspor.
