Guti begins new role at Besiktas

The ex-Real Madrid midfielder has joined his new club’s training camp in Austria today.

Real Madrid legend Guti, alongside another new assistant Ilhan Mansiz, took part of their first training session with the Black Eagles today.

The Super Lig club are in Ehrenhausen, Austria where they are carrying out intense pre-season training.

Guti spoke to members of the Turkish press and expressed his happiness at “coming back home”. The legendary midfielder was recently appointed as assistant manager to Senol Gunes.

Ilhan Mansiz, a former Besiktas striker, also spoke positively of his new position and is hopeful of achieving plenty of success with Besiktas.

Meanwhile, unwanted striker Alvaro Negredo took part of his first pre-season training with the Turkish club in Austria today after missing out the first phase of their training camp, held in Slovakia last week.
