Trezeguet’s transfer to Slavia Prague falls through

Egyptian star Trezeguet was on the verge of joining Slavia Prague before the move fell through in the last minute.

Trezeguet’s move to Czech giants Slavia Prague has been called off. The Egyptian international was given permission by his club Kasimpasa to travel to the Czech capital to finalize his transfer, however, it was not meant to be.

After passing the mandatory medical, the player was set to sign on the dotted line for his new club.

However, the transfer has been called off after the Czech club failed to pay the €5 million transfer fee agreed upon by the two clubs. The deadline for the payment was 5:00PM Turkish time today.

Kasimpasa’s sporting director Nursal Bilgin confirmed the events to the members of the press.

The 23-year-old is expected to return to training and carry on with the new season’s preparations.

Galatasaray have been heavily linked with the attacking midfielder although nothing has come out of the speculation thus far. The player himself has said he would prefer to play for Galatasaray just days ago.
