Ex-Newcastle striker Cisse signs for Alanyaspor

Senegalese star Cisse has been added to Alanyaspor’s squad, the club announced tonight.

Alanyaspor have completed the signing of striker Papiss Cisse from Chinese Super League club Shandong Luneng on Friday evening.

The 33-year-old has penned a two-year contract with the Super Lig club.

The club were trying to strike a deal for Italian striker Pazzini but after being unable to come to terms with his club, they’ve set their eyes on the Senegal striker.

Alanyaspor president Hasan Cagusoglu was present during the press conference and spoke highly of their latest signing.

“We believe he will continue to do well here. I hope he will have an injury-free season. Our expectations of him are high,” he said.

The former Newcastle United striker said he will do his best to justify his transfer.

“I’m very happy to be here. Like our president said, Alanya expects of me. I will work hard to achieve these expectations. I will do my best to make Alanyaspor successful. I don’t like to talk much. I will speak on the pitch,” the determined forward said.
