Caykur Rizespor to part ways with manager

The Black Sea Sparrowhawk could be on the lookout for a new manager as early as this week.

Caykur Rizespor manager Ibrahim Uzulmez is on the verge of being relieved of his duties after a disastrous start to the new season. Following their 2-1 loss to Antalyaspor on Sunday, the club’s hierarchy have decided a change is needed before things go from bad to worse.

The club have 2 draws and 2 losses after four weeks of Super Lig action, still looking for their first win.

The board have requested the manager’s resignation and are expecting Uzulmez to make his decision before being pushed.

They’ve held a meeting with the 44-year-old yesterday, of which they notified the public with a statement on their website.

“Due to the bad results, we have come together with our coach and we have told him that a change of duty would benefit the club. We will publish an official statement tomorrow after he informs us of his decision.”
