Emery denies blocking Low’s training ground visit

Arsenal manager Unai Emery has publicly stated that he did not block German coach Joachim Low from entering Arsenal’s training ground to meet Mesut Ozil.

Earlier this week, reports from Germany emerged claiming Joachim Low was scheduled to visit Mesut Ozil at Arsenal’s facilities to have a clear-the-air talks only to be denied from entering the club’s base.

Ozil and Low are in the midst of a row over his international retirement, after the forward attributed his early exit to the ‘racism’ he faced due to his Turkish decent.

The German coach was in London and is reported to have wanted a sit-down with Ozil but Emery denied claims it was him who blocked the Germany head coach access to Arsenal and their star player.

“It’s not true that I didn’t let Mesut meet with Low. I had no problem in our situation in the training ground. It’s not true,” he told reporters.

Low labelled Ozil’s claims as ‘exaggerated’ and former team-mates reacted angrily to the idea of racism within the squad, but the German never accused his team-mates or manager of racism.
