Fener players, president apologize to fans after loss

The Yellow Canaries were stunned by a 3-0 defeat to Rizespor in their away Super Lig clash.

Fenerbahce suffered another embarrassing defeat in the Super Lig on Sunday. Newcomers Caykur Rizespor found the back of the net three times in 12 minutes in the first half and managed to emerge victorious from their home fixture against Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

Following the referee’s final whistle, Fenerbahce players went over to their supporters in the away section of the stands and apologized for their sub-par performance. The fans whistled, booed and yelled insults at the players in return.

A group of fans started chanting “Take off the uniform, play naked!” in response to the poor performance displayed by the Fenerbahce players.

The club’s president, Ali Koc, also made his way to the fans and apologized in person to the loyal group of supporters who made the trip to see their team in action.

Ali Koc embraces the fans as he apologizes.

The defeat leaves Fenerbahce in 14th place with just 7 points after 7 games.
