Santos to make a move for Vagner Love in January

The Black Eagles could part ways with their Brazilian striker as Santos are preparing to bring him back to Brazil.

Besiktas striker Vagner Love has been a disappointment since his arrival to say the least. The 34-year-old still has suitors, however, with Brazilian giants Santos FC are reported to be interested in the player’s services.

According to Brazil’s Fox Sports journalist Fabio Sormani, Santos want to add Love to their squad in January.

Love is reported to be looking for a way out of Besiktas and would prefer to move back to his native homeland. So much so that he could ask to have his contract terminated during the winter transfer window due to his frustration with his role in the first team.

This has raised Santos’ interest even further, hoping to snatch the player for a low transfer fee, possibly even on a free transfer.

Another Brazilian outfit, Flamengo, were close to signing the striker this past summer only for the deal to fall through due to a delay in processing of his paperwork. The player’s agent had blamed Besiktas’ management for the failed transfer.
