Alanyaspor sign former Liverpool defender Caulker

The Super Lig minnows have snapped up Steven Caulker on a free transfer.

Alanyaspor have added Steven Caulker to their squad, the club announced on Tuesday on their official website.

The 27-year-old, who has been without a club since being released by Scottish side Dundee FC in August 2018, has signed a two-and-a-half year deal with the Turkish club. The deal includes a two-year extension if certain conditions are met.

Sitting alongside club president Hasan Cavusoglu, the centre-back said he hopes to be a useful addition to his new team.

“I’ve been working with the team in Alanya for 9-10 days. There is a real positive and high level of friendship within the team. I hope that I can contribute to both Alanyaspor and my career,” he said.

The former England international has played for numerous clubs in England during his time in the UK, including Tottenham, Bristol City, Swansea City, Cardiff City, Liverpool and Southampton.
