Fenerbahce offer club legend Alex director role

Brazilian maestro Alex de Souza could be employed by the club once again but this time in a non-playing role.

Fenerbahce legend Alex de Souza turned back the clock when he visited the club’s facilities last week.

The now retired midfielder was spotted in the stands as he watched Fenerbahce take on Konyaspor in their February 16 duel at Ulker Stadium in Istanbul.

According to reports in Turkey, the club’s management offered their former player, a Fenerbahce legend, the role of Director of Football.

The role would put in him charge of finding suitable targets for the club though the transfer negotiations will still be carried out by current director Damien Comolli.

These two could be working together soon.

The 41-year-old is reported to have asked for time to consider the offer as he would need to consult with his family before making a decision.

Time will tell if Alex will return to Fenerbahce once again.
