Ozan Kabak wants to play for Bayern Munich

The promising defender revealed a few interesting bits during an interview in Germany including his plans for the future.

VfB Stuttgart centre-back Ozan Kabak has been making headlines across Europe for all the right reasons recently. He recently sat down for an interview in Germany where he revealed his decision to leave Galatasaray as well as his plans for the future.

The 18-year-old Turkish talent transferred to the Bundesliga outfit from Galatasaray in January and has already set a record in his short time with the club.

Speaking about his reason to leave Turkey, he said;

“I had a career plan right from the start and my wish after playing in Turkey was to go to Europe. I wanted to make this happen in the shortest time possible. I had many opportunities and my coaches at Galatasaray helped me make the best decision and now I’m at Stuttgart.”

He also hinted at his potential future moves when asked about his plans in the coming years.

“I’ve been here just two months and we are trying to keep the team in the Bundesliga by collecting as many points as possible. To talk about the future is too early. But who wouldn’t want to play for Bayern Munich? Of course, there are other big clubs in Europe. You have to work hard and be patient,” he said.

Kabak underlined the role Galatasaray coach Fatih Terim played in his career and that he considers him a “father figure”.

“Of course, he’s a father figure to me. Trusting an 18-year-old in Turkey to play in the Champions League takes some courage. I am sure he’s following the games. We talk. I have given him the first two jerseys from the Bayern game at his request,” he explained.

He also revealed that while he does not have a role model he does take a liking to the style of football played by Virgil van Dijk and Raphael Varane.

When asked about the major difference between German and Turkish football, the youngster was clear with his opinion.

“Definitely speed. You run more and faster in Germany.”
