Yeni Malatyaspor have completed their objective of the season by finishing fifth in the 2018-2019 season of the Turkish Super Lig which means they will get a taste of European football next season.
Despite losing 2-1 to Bursaspor on Sunday, the club finished in fifth place with 47 points thanks to coach Erol Bulut and his players.
The feat sees Yeni Malatyaspor return to Europe sixteen years after their last participation which was all the way back in 2003-2004 when the competition was called UEFA Cup.
Shortly after the final whistle ended their duel with Bursaspor, excited fans took to the streets of Malatya waving flags of the club’s logo and celebrating their team’s achievement.
