Turkish Super Lig giants Besiktas are on the verge of announcing their first signing of the January transfer window in the coming days.
The club have had successful transfer talks with Brazilian midfielder Guilherme who is on loan with Yeni Malatyaspor from Italian club Benevento.
The 28-year-old’s transfer is expected to be finalized in the coming days.
Yeni Malatyaspor’s head coach Sergen Yalcin confirmed Besiktas have been negotiating with his player, Guilherme.
However, Yeni Malatyaspor president Adil Gevrek revealed on Friday evening that Besiktas, despite not being legally required to, have conducted the transfer talks with Guilherme without contacting Yeni Malatyaspor.
Guilherme joined Yeni Malatyaspor on an initial one-year loan in August 2018 and due to his impressive performances the club decided to extend his loan until June 2021.
The stocky Brazilian has scored 7 goals and made 6 assists in 23 appearances for Yeni Malatyaspor this season.
