Caykur Rizespor part ways with manager

The Northeastern club are looking for a new coach to take charge of the first team.

Turkish Super Lig minnows Caykur Rizespor have parted ways with Okan Buruk, the club confirmed on Wednesday.

The club’s president, Hasan Kartal, and his assistant Ali Zeki Saruhan held a meeting with Buruk in Istanbul where they discussed the club’s future objectives and vision going into the new season.

However, the two parties were unable to reach a positive conclusion and have parted ways, according to the club’s spokesperson Hasan Yavuz Bakir.

“We could not reach an agreement with coach Okan Buruk. We will not be together with coach Okan next season,” Bakir told reporters in Turkey.

The club thanked Buruk and his team for their services and wished them success in the next step of their careers.

Buruk is widely reported to be on his way to take the reins at Istanbul Basaksehir, whose coach Abdullah Avci is reported to have agreed to take the Besitas job.
