Sivasspor appoint Riza Calimbay as manager

The Turkish coach will be in charge of the Super Lig club next season.

Sivasspor announced the appointment of Riza Calimbay as their new manager on Friday.

During the press conference at the club’s stadium in Sivas, club president Mecnun Otyakmaz revealed that they have signed a one-year contract with Calimbay.

Calimbay, who was unemployed since being let go by Konyaspor in November 2018, returns to Sivasspor for the second time as a manager.

His first stint as Sivasspor manager was from October 2010 until June 2013, which was his lengthiest employment as a football manager.

Born in Sivas, the 56-year-old said he has a special bond with the club.

“Sivas is very important for me. It’s where I was born. I remember the grounds before the stadium. I had many nice days here. My childhood was spent here,” Calimbay said.
