Genclerbirligi sign Giovanni Sio from Montpellier

The newly-promoted Super Lig club have brought the Ivory Coast forward to Turkey.

Super Lig newcomers Genclerbirligi have signed striker Giovanni Sio from French club Montpellier on a two-year contract, the capital-based club announced on Friday.

The 30-year-old nomadic forward has played for numerous clubs during his career including Nantes, Sion, Wolfsburg, Augsburg, Real Sociedad, Basel and Montpellier. Genclerbirligi have snapped him on a free transfer.

The Ivory Coast international has been capped 25 times by his country and has scored 3 goals.

Sio spent last season on loan with United Arab Emirates’ club Ittihad Kalba where he scored 7 goals in 21 appearances.
