Rangers winger on the radar of Turkish clubs

Albanian international Eros Grezda has caught the attention of multiple Turkish Super Lig outfits.

Rangers Football Club’s pacey winger Eros Grezda could be leaving Scotland for good next month after multiple clubs in Turkey have added the player’s name to their shortlist for the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old talent has been frozen out of the first team by the Scottish club’s manager Steven Gerrard after a dispute earlier in the season and is reported to be looking for a way out.

Gerrard has made it clear the player’s future lies elsewhere which has opened the door for Turkish clubs to make a move for the Albanian. Rangers are reported to be willing to consider any offers for Grezda should a potential suitor make a bid in January, despite the fact that they spent £2 million for his transfer from Croatia’s NK Osijek in August 2018.

Super Lig leaders Sivasspor are one of the teams who could offer Eros a way out of Ibrox Stadium as they seek to reinforce their squad with new players in their bid to clinch their first-ever domestic league title.

Sivasspor coach Riza Calimbay told reporters earlier during the week his team are in need of three to four new players if they are to achieve their objective and the Albanian international could be one of those names.

Alanyaspor, who are pushing for a Europa League qualification spot this season, are one of the other teams that are in need of a pacey winger with an eye for goal.

Former Newcastle United striker Papis Cisse is currently plying his trade with Alanyaspor and is the second highest goalscorer of the season thus far with 10 goals in 14 games.

The resort town club are known for their attacking style of football and a winger like Grezda could potentially give them the boost they need to qualify for Europe.

A source close to the player has confirmed clubs from Croatia and France are also keeping tabs on the winger.

Eros, who has been capped 12 times by Albania, is contracted to Rangers until the summer of 2022, however, that could change when the January transfer window opens.
