Trabzonspor sack manager Unal Karaman

The Black Sea Storm have parted ways with Turkish coach Unal Karaman.

Turkish football outfit Trabzonspor have officially ended ties with their manager Unal Karaman, the club announced on Monday.

According to the statement released by the club on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), the contract was terminated by mutual consent after conducting talks between the club and coach.

Trabzonspor have paid Karaman the remainder of his salary — 2.25 million Turkish Lira — for the 2019-2020 season as a form of compensation for dismissing him prior to the expiration of his contract.

He was appointed in June 2018 to replace the previous coach, Riza Calimbay, and was contracted to Trabzonspor until May 31, 2021.

The club’s president, Ahmet Agaoglu, said there are no names at the moment who they are considering to replace Karaman.

Agaoglu also revealed that he was not satisfied with the style of football Karaman insisted on playing for the past four, five weeks.

Trabzonspor are currently in third place with 32 points.
