Besiktas considering Loris Karius alternatives

The Black Eagles will not exercise the option in their deal with Liverpool to permanently sign Karius nor extend his loan.

Besiktas football club are looking at potential transfers to fill the role of first team goalkeeper after being unsatisfied with their current number one; Loris Karius.

The German goalkeeper, currently on loan with Besiktas from Liverpool, transferred to the Istanbul club for a two-season loan.

Besiktas paid Liverpool a €2.2 million loan fee at the beginning of last season and have the option to sign Karius for €8 million.

However, reports from the Besiktas camp are suggesting the club’s management have made the decision to look for an alternative after multiple poor performances and inconsistency on the pitch from Karius.

To date, Karius has conceded 84 goals in the 58 appearances he has made for The Black Eagles.

The 26-year-old’s loan ends in June and will sent back to Liverpool.
