Galatasaray bid for Torino defender Lyanco

The Lions have made an official transfer offer for the services of Torino FC defender Lyanco.

Galatasaray have made contact with Serie A outfit Torino FC for the transfer of their central defender Lyanco, according to reports from Italy.

The Turkish club’s coach, Fatih Terim, has instructed the club’s administration to sign a central defender before the January transfer window closes as he seeks to bolster his team’s leaky defense.

The 22-year-old Brazilian has found little playing time at Torino having been limited to just 6 league appearances this season.

The Lions are facing competition from other clubs, however, as Bundesliga side Wolfsburg have also tabled an offer for the Brazilian defender.

Terim spoke to reporters after guiding his side to a 2-1 victory against Caykur Rizespor in the Turkish Cup on Thursday, saying he wishes for a defender this January.

Galatasaray’s offer is reported to be a short-term loan until the end of the season with the option to make the transfer permanent for an undisclosed figure.
