Goztepe goalkeeper Beto unsure of future

The Portuguese shot stopper is in the final months of his contract with Goztepe and is yet to receive an offer from the club.

Turkish Super Lig outfit Goztepe’s goalkeeper Beto says he has not received an offer from the club’s management.

The 37-year-old is in the final five-months of his current deal which expires on June 30.

“This is the last year of my contract. I do not know what will happen. It depends on the club and the management. We will see what will happen,” he told reporters on Tuesday.

When asked about his retirement plans, Beto said he has not set a specific date and he feels physically fine despite his age.

“I have no plans nor do I have a an age in mind. I feel good at the moment. I feel in top condition in terms of physically, mentally and motivation wise. Whenever my mind, motivation and my body tell me to, I will stop. For now, I feel really good. I have been doing this since 7 years of age. It has been 30 years now,” the Portugese international explained.

Beto has consistently been one of the Super Lig’s best goalkeepers since transferring from Sporting Lisbon in July 2017.
