Belhanda fined for incident

Younes Belhanda fined by his club for receiving a second sending off.

Galatasaray’s number 10 Belhanda was sent off in the second half of last night’s fixture against Antalyaspor. The midfielder was cautioned with a yellow card for his rough play however that didn’t stop him from continuing his antics.

The Moroccan seemed agitated throughout the match due to what he perceived to be rough tackles. In the final minutes of the encounter tensions flared between himself and Hakan Ozmert of Antalyaspor to the point where Belhanda headbutted his opponent in the face. Referee Baris Simsek penalized both with a yellow card.

Younes didn’t stop there however and protested against the referee for his decision which led to Simsek issuing him a second yellow card.

Galatasaray have decided to fine the player $7,500 for being sent off for the second time. In addition to the fine, the player is suspended for next week’s match against Kasimpasa.
