Trabzonspor clear up Loic Remy rumour

French striker Loic Remy was rumoured to have been close to joining Trabzonspor.

Trabzonspor have made an official statement on their website regarding their alleged offer for Loic Remy.

The club were rumoured to have been interested in signing the striker however nothing came to be of such reports. There was, however, a strong indication within Turkish media which claimed the club had made a €7.5 million offer for the player’s services. There were several news outlets making the claim and even attempted to spread the rumour as news on social media.

The Black Sea Storm have categorically denied such a claim and denounced it as “fake news”.  Below is the translated statement from their website:

“In recent days there have been unreasonable reports in social media and by some press media that the club have made an offer of €7.5 million for Loic Remy. These reports are fake news made from a computer in the form of an e-mail. Our club’s lawyers have initiated legal proceedings against those who make and distribute these false reports. Our attorneys will also be following up and applying strictly the legal applications against false, libelous, insulting and threatening acts no matter when they are made in the future.”
