Goztepe make their first signing of the summer

The Izmir based club signed Alpaslan Ozturk on a free transfer.

Super Lig side Goztepe made their first signing of the summer as they signed former Standard Liege midfielder Alpaslan Ozturk.

The Belgian-born player was at Elazigspor last season, a team in Turkey’s second division. However, his contract expired last month and he has since been picked up by the Izmir side, signing a three-year contract.

The 24-year-old lists Standard Liege, Kasimpasa and Eskisehirspor as some of his previous clubs.

Ozturk was accepted into England’s Birmingham’s academy as a youngster in 2010 before being released in the summer of 2011.
