One of the most promising names in Turkish football, Mehmet Zeki Celik, has completed his transfer to Lille today. The French club confirmed the news on their official website.
The 21-year-old has put pen to paper on a five-year deal.
He spent the last season in Turkey’s second division, 1.Lig, with Istanbulspor where he scored 3 goals and made 1 assist in 38 appearances.
The player was regularly linked with the biggest clubs in the Turkish Super Lig however he had voiced his opinion that he wanted to continue his career in Europe.
The youngster is a Bursaspor academy product and due to a transfer clause agreement between his former club Bursaspor and Istanbulspor, the Green Crocodiles are entitled to 50% of any future transfer fee.
