Erwin Koeman appointed Cocu’s assistant at Fenerbahce

The Dutch coach has joined Fenerbahce’s backroom staff, joining fellow countryman Cocu.

Fenerbahce have added another Dutch coach to their staff. Erwin Koeman, the brother of Ronald Koeman, whose last job was with English Premier League club Everton.

Koeman has plenty of experience, in the Netherlands and abroad, and will be newly appointed Phillip Cocu’s assistant during the upcoming season.

Erwin has managed Feyenoord, PSV Eindhoven and FC Utrecht in his native homeland. Abroad, he has been in charge of Hungary as well as having been the assistant manager at Southampton and Everton in England.

The 56-year-old was recommended by Cocu, who spoke positively of his appointment.

“I am very happy that with Erwin’s experience we will make a big contribution to the team and personal growth of our players.”
