The Serbian star gave an exclusive interview to Besiktas TV where he spoke at length about a variety of topics.
During an interview for Besiktas’ YouTube channel, Adem Ljajic talked about a number of topics including his decision to join the Turkish club. He also compared the football in Turkey compared to Italy.

“Besiktas is a great opportunity”
“I was very pleased when I heard Besiktas wanted me. Because this is a very big club. It’s a very good squad. It’s a great opportunity for me. To improve myself and to go to better places as a professional, it was a big opportunity. So, I decided to take it.”
“Medel is my friend”
“I played with Medel at Inter for a year. I know him. Besides him, all my other friends welcomed me very well. There’s a great atmosphere within the team. I hope it will continue this way.”
“Great atmosphere”
“There’s a great atmosphere, really. There’s a big group of supporters. It reminds me of the atmosphere in my home country, Serbia. Like there, they support their team for the entire 90 minutes. Of course, it’s an advantage to play for a club with such passionate fans.”
“I listened to Dusko’s advice”
“Dusko is my friend. He gave me good advice. He told me about the team, the city. He was helpful during the transfer. I paid attention to his advice.”
“Istanbul is different”
“Istanbul is a very different city. The traffic, especially. It will take some time to get used to it but without question, the city is very beautiful. It gives you happiness to live in such a city.”
“It’s easier to play in Turkey”
“Italy is a very tactical league. That’s why it’s more difficult. Turkish league is a very physical league. I can say this; at first glance, it looks like it’s easier to play in Turkey. Because you can find more space. In Italy, you can’t. There’s a slight difference in that.”
“My job is to make assists”
“I don’t like to compare myself to other players. Nor do I like to talk about myself. I’m a player who likes to work for the team. My job is to contribute to the team, to make assists. My biggest strength is the ability to make assists. I can find solutions when my teammates call for them. The objective is to be champions and to play in the Champions League.”
The 26-year-old joined Besiktas on a season-long loan from Italian side Torino on the final day of the summer transfer window.
