Super Lig clubs and TFF meet to discuss finances

The presidents of each Super Lig club came together with the Turkish Football Federation management to discuss the club’s finances.

The Turkish Football Federation management and the presidents of the Turkish Super Lig clubs held a meeting in Riva, Istanbul on Tuesday where they discussed the details regarding the debt re-structuring initiative that was passed recently.

The initiative, labeled as the “Financial Revolution” was put together by the Banks Association of Turkey (TBB) and the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) to save clubs from going bust due to overwhelming levels of debt they have accumulated over the years.

Based on each club’s debt level, clubs will focus on creating different payment configuration models inline with their budgets.

The meeting started at 4:00PM local time on Tuesday and is reported to have lasted approximately 2 hours. Some of the club’s representatives were seen entering the premises with a large number of thick files.

The only club’s president to not have attended the meeting was Galatasaray. Kayserispor’s president, Erol Bedir, who is also the vice president of the Club Association Foundation, confirmed the meeting’s agenda when asked by reporters shortly after he emerged from the premise.
