Denizlispor, Genclerbirligi promoted to TSL

The first two newly promoted teams that will participate in next season’s Super Lig have been confirmed.

The two new participants in the 2019-2020 season of the Turkish Super Lig have been confirmed as of Sunday; Denizlispor and Genclerbirligi.

Denizlispor thrashed a trouble-laden Karabukspor 6-0 at home to guarantee themselves a top two finish in the First Lig (1.Lig) which means an automatic promotion to the Super Lig.

Genclerbirligi, on the other hand, picked up a vital three points in their 2-0 victory away to Gazisehir Gaziantep which also guaranteed them a top two finish and subsequently an automatic promotion to Turkey’s top flight.

Genclerbirligi are currently in first place with 70 points followed closely by Denizlispor who have 69 points.

The third team to win promotion to the Turkish Super Lig will be determined via the play-offs set take place after next week.

Hatayspor, Osmanlispor, Altinordu, Gazisehir Gaziantep and Adana Demirspor are all still in contention for a spot in the Super Lig playoffs wihch will take place later this month.

On the other hand, the first team to be relegated from the Turkish Super Lig this season is Akhisarspor, whose relegation was confirmed after their 2-1 loss to Fenerbahce on Saturday.
