Besiktas legend Yalcin takes Malatyaspor job

The Besiktas legend has been announced as the Super Lig club’s new boss.

Yeni Malatyaspor have appointed Sergen Yalcin as their new head coach, the club confirmed on Monday.

The veteran midfielder, who carved out an image as a goal-scoring attacking midfielder during his playing days with Besiktas in the 90s, parted ways with Super Lig outfit Alanyaspor at the end of last season.

Yeni Malatyaspor’s club president Adil Gevrek revealed that his administration have struck a two-year deal with Yalcin.

The 46-year-old will replace the club’s previous coach, Erol Bulut, who has taken the reigns at Yalcin’s former club, Alanyaspor.
