Turkish international Yusuf Yazici is keen on a move to Lille, says the French club’s president.
Trabzonspor star midfielder Yusuf Yazici continues to be wanted by Ligue 1 club Lille and their interest remains strong to this day despite the Turkish club’s president claiming he wouldn’t sell the player this summer.
Lille’s president Gerard Lopez is reported to have claimed that Yazici is interested and willing to join the French club. The remarks were made while Lopez spoke to sports news outlet RMC Sport.
Underlining that he wanted to sign the Turkish international, Lopez said affirmed their and his interest.
“Yusuf is one of the players we are interested in. We want to see him in our team because of his age and potential. He is also quite willing to be a part of Lille,” Lopez is reported as saying.
Lille made a transfer bid for Yazici earlier this summer, reported to be €17 million including €3 million in bonus clauses and 15% of his future sale. Trabzonspor’s president Ahmet Agaoglu turned down the offer, however, saying he wants to keep the talented midfielder for at least another season.
If Yazici were to join the French club he would play alongside another Turkish player in the team, Turkey international Zeki Celik, who signed for Lille from second-division club Istanbulspor last year.
The 22-year-old attacking midfielder is being tracked by a host of European clubs including Lille and Manchester United but no deal has been arranged for the talented Turkish international.
