Arsenal’s Mohamed Elneny joins Besiktas on loan

The Egyptian midfielder will spend the 2019-2020 season with The Black Eagles.

Turkish Super Lig football club Besiktas have struck a loan deal with Arsenal for their midfielder Mohamed Elneny.

The 27-year-old defensive midfielder has agreed to join Besiktas on a season-long deal, Besiktas Football Director Ali Naibi confirmed on Friday.

“We made an agreement with Mohamed Elneny and his club. This evening he will arrive in Istanbul. If there are no problems during the medical exam, we will sign a one-year loan deal. He is a very valuable player. He has played about 100 games in the Premier League in the past three-and-a-half years. We needed to replace Gary Medel with an experienced player. I believe we made the right move,” Naibi told TRT Spor on Friday.

Elneny arrived in Istanbul in the late hours of Friday evening to complete his loan move to The Black Eagles.
