Fatih Terim visits Italy and Gattuso

Galatasaray manager Fatih Terim was in Italy yesterday to observe the Milan-Inter encounter and to visit his friend Gennaro Gattuso.

Fatih Terim made a scheduled visit to Italy on the weekend as he planned to watch the Milan-Inter derby however he wasn’t so lucky as all football matches in Italy were postponed due to the sudden death of Fiorentina captain Davide Astori.

Upon hearing of the unfortunate news, Terim met with Fiorentina’s general manager Giancarlo Antognoni and expressed his condolences.

Terim also visited Milan’s facilities, where he once worked, and met up with his friend, now colleague, Gennaro Gattuso. The Turkish manager received a warm welcome as he made his way around the premise. The two were seeing chatting and having a good time as they discussed a variety of topics.

Gattuso had some nice words to say about his friend, who was his boss at one point when Fatih was the manager of Milan back in 2001;

“Fatih Terim is a very experienced and successful manager. He’s a man’s man. His communication and dialogue with players is different. He always pushed us, did his best to push us to succeed. He’s someone who worked for football, gave everything for football.”

Fatih Terim gave his team two days off after thrashing Karabukspor 7-0 on Saturday.
