Eto’o: ‘We’ll stay in the league’

Samuel Eto'o of Konyaspor says his team will remain in the Turkish Super Lig and avoid relegation

Konyaspor’s striker Samuel Eto’o remained positive about his team’s chances of avoiding relegation from the Turkish Super Lig this season.

Konyaspor are trying everything they can to turn things around as they seek to avoid relgation from the Super Lig and their star striker Samuel Eto’o remains hopeful of doing so.

“Konyaspor, with its quality and fans, don’t deserve to be in this position. I’m doing everything in my power to turn things around and to help our team. I believe we will keep the team in the league. With my experience and the team, we’ll do our best.”, said the 37-year-old.

Eto’o is a new signing at Konyaspor after leaving Antalyaspor in January by mutual consent and agreeing to a two-and-a-half-year contract with the Anatolian Eagle.

The club are currently 17th in the Super Lig with 24 points. With just 8 games remaining, however, they have it all to do if they are to avoid the drop.
