Kayerispor part ways with Marius Sumudica

Turkish Super Lig side have parted ways with Romanian manager Marius Sumudica.

After a promising season that ended on a sour note, Kayserispor have parted ways with Marius Sumudica, the club have announced on their website.

Kayerispor have collected 44 points after 33 Turkish Super Lig matches and with just one match left, are sitting in 9th place.

The club set a target of qualifying for Europa League, which meant finishing at least fifth, however they are about to finish the season well short of their objective.

The Romanian manager had extended his contract by 2 years on April 3 when the team were doing well and in fifth place but they have slipped down the table in the final weeks of the 2017/2018 season.

Kayserispor’s 2-1 defeat to Akhisarspor last weekend was the final nail in the coffin for Sumudica.

The club have thanked him for his dedication and effort and have wished him well in his future endeavours.

There are no names that have been linked with the vacant managerial role at Kayserispor as of yet.
