Antalyaspor terminate Vainqueur's contract

Antalyaspor have released William Vainqueur due to financial difficulties.

Antalyaspor have terminated midfielder William Vainqueur’s contract after the player had requested to leave the club.

The club are currently experiencing financial difficulties and are struggling with paying their players. Some players have not been paid for 3 months, reports claim.

Vainqueur’s reason for leaving was due not being paid regularly and the club continuing to fall behind with payments.

Things could get worse for the club once the summer transfer window opens as there could be a clearout of high-wage earners.

The Frenchman signed a three-year-deal with Antalyaspor on September 4 2017 and featured regularly however due to the financial difficulties the club finds itself in, the player wanted to leave.

There have been 4-5 European clubs who are interested in the player and he’s reported to be already weighing his next move.
