Turkish referee to officiate Morocco-Iran clash

Turkish referee Cuneyt Cakir to officiate Morocco-Iran clash

Turkish referee Cuneyt Cakir will call the shots during Friday’s clash between Morocco and Iran.

Turkey’s most famous referee, Cuneyt Cakir, will be in charge of the game between Group B teams Morocco and Iran on Friday.

His assistants will be Bahattin Duran and Tarik Ongun as they line up alongside him in their first World Cup match. Cakir has received praise from around Europe in the past several years as being one of the most consistent and lenient referees in the sport. This will be his second appearance at a World Cup tournament.

The game is set to kick off at 6PM local time on Friday June 15.
