Goztepe trying to sign Mario Gomez

The Izmir club are actively trying to sign the German star.

Goztepe are doing their best to sign Mario Gomez from VfB Stuttgart, according to the club’s president Mehmet Sepil.

The Super Lig side are reported to have offered an annual salary of €1.5 million to Gomez, stretching their budget as far as it can go.

The 33-year-old has experience playing in Turkey, having been sent on loan to Besiktas from Fiorentina in 2015/2016. That year, he became the league’s top scorer and became a fan favorite due to his consistent performances and goal-scoring ability.

Whether the German striker will accept the offer, however, remains to be seen.
