Yasin Oztekin throws shade at Galatasaray

Goztepe midfielder Yasin Oztekin

The Goztepe midfielder has been in superb form since his transfer from Galatasaray this summer.

Goztepe midfielder Yasin Oztekin spoke to reporters after his team’s 3-1 loss to Kasimpasa in Istanbul on Friday evening and said he is enjoying his football at his new club.

The 31-year-old scored his side’s only goal with a powerful effort that went into the top right corner of Kasimpasa’s net.

“The most important thing is the team. We played terrible in the first half. It’s not easy to play Kasimpasa at their home and today it just wasn’t meant to be. At the end, it’s football. We played better in the second half. We have our issues, we need to work on them. Just because we won 3-4 games doesn’t mean we should lose concentration. We didn’t deserve the points today. We need to work hard, we want to win our upcoming games,” he said after the 90 minutes were over.

when asked about his good start to the season after his transfer, he said;

“A football player’s head must be clear, comfortable and peaceful. They must feel the support. I played 150 games at Galatasaray, scored lots of goals, made assists. I felt good there as well but here, my head is clear, I’m comfortable and happy. This is reflected in my performances. I’m working hard as I have targets.”

The German-born midfielder swapped Galatasaray for Goztepe after his deal expired with The Lions.

So far, he has scored 4 goals in 8 games for his team in the Super Lig.
