Besiktas linked with Austrian stopper

The Black Eagles are interested in the services of Austrian defender Georg Margreitter.

Turkish football giants Besiktas are in advanced talks with 1.FC Nurnberg’s central defender Georg Margreitter.

Besiktas president Fikret Orman has been told the players newly appointed coach Abdullah Avci wants to see in his team this summer, however, the president and his team are still working on raising transfer funds. The club is struggling financially, as are almost all Super Lig clubs, and have set a €40 million total budget for the entire year, including transfers and operation costs.

According to reports in Turkey, the club are progressing well in their talks with the 30-year-old Margreitter and is expected to officially announce the transfer in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Besiktas midfielder Dorukhan Tokoz is linked with a move away from Vodafone Park. Club officials claim the 23-year-old is on Liverpool’s radar and will hold transfer talks with the Champions League winners regarding a potential transfer.
