Besiktas to sign New Zealand forward for €2.4m

The Black Eagles have reached a deal to sign Tyler Boyd.

Besiktas have succeeded in their transfer talks with Portuguese club Vitoria Guimaraes for the signing of New Zealand-born forward Tyler Boyd, who impressed during his loan with Super Lig minnows Ankaragucu last season.

The Super Lig giants have agreed to pay a transfer fee of €2.4 million for the player with the first payment being €1 million and due on July 10 while the remaining €1.4 million will be paid in three equal instalments.

Boyd, capable of playing both as a winger and a forward, will earn €1.2 million per season with Besiktas.

Besiktas board of directors member Ahmet Kavalci confirmed the transfer on Saturday, July 6, while talking to Turkish media.

“We made our first transfer by permanently signing Adem Ljajic. Now, we’ve agreed with Boyd. Our fans should rest easy. We continue to work on transfers day and night. There will be new names added to our squad soon,” Kavalci said.
