Cenk Tosun joins Crystal Palace on loan

The Turkish international has moved to the London club until the end of the current season.

Crystal Palace have signed striker Cenk Tosun from Everton until the end of the season, the club announced on Friday.

The South London club’s chairman Steve Parish said the club are delighted to have completed the transfer.

“We’re delighted to have secured Cenk’s services for the remainder of the season. We’ve enjoyed a great first half of the campaign and Cenk’s arrival will bolster our squad as we push for a top-half Premier League finish. Cenk has a proven record as a goalscorer and we’ve admired him for some time, so I’m very pleased to welcome him to Crystal Palace,” Parish said.

The 28-year-old striker joined Everton from Besiktas in January 2018 but has failed to replicate the form he had while playing for The Black Eagles.

Since joining Everton, Cenk has scored 10 goals in 51 matches.

He has been assigned the number 20 and will compete with the likes of Jordan Ayew, Christian Benteke and Wilfried Zaha for a starting place.
